On 28 September, from 3.00 pm to 5.30 pm,<\/strong> will be broadcast on Slash Radio Web<\/strong> the second appointment of the program 'Art Conversations<\/strong>, dedicated to this 'year to the cycle 'Landscapes. Places, narratives, works<\/em>'.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sound environments and aquatic harmonies<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the second episode we will discover the VILLAE<\/a><\/strong> of Tivoli<\/a>, on the outskirts of Rome, whose gardens can also be considered as landscapes and sound environments<\/strong>, due to the pervasive presence of water and its continuous pouring into nymphaeums and monumental fountains. Iconic and representative places of the close link between aquatic sounds and lush settings, through which we will continue the radio story relating to the Italian landscape and its complexities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although today it is no longer possible to appreciate the water features once present in the Hadrian's Villa<\/strong>, the latter will still succeed centuries later in inspiring the construction of the gardens of the villa of Cardinal Hippolytus II of Este<\/strong>. In both monuments the desire to reorganize the landscape through the total integration between architecture and environment, art and nature<\/strong> is evident. The protagonist role is played in this sense, in particular in the Villa d'Este with water features, fountains and jets, whose sounds evoke the slow flow of a river or the impetuous energy of waterfalls. At the same time, artificial metallic sounds, the chirping of birds and refined musical pieces are emitted thanks to mechanical automatons that arouse, today as then, amazement and wonder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through listening to songs, testimonies of artists and travellers, we will try to illustrate the historical importance of the villas, underlining their connection with the landscape of the surrounding countryside, characterized by a unique and peculiar stratification and by the presence of important ruins, such as monumental ones of the Shrine of Hercules Victor<\/strong>. The story will be accompanied by listening to musical pieces and compositions by Franz Liszt, inspired by the garden of Villa d'Este.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Director Andrea Bruciati<\/strong>and the archaeological officials Lucilla D'Alessandro<\/strong> and Viviana Carbonara<\/strong>, of the Villa Adriana Institute and Villa d'Este in Tivoli, will delve deeper into the landscapes of the Tiburtina villas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will be followed by a speech by Andrea Arcieri<\/strong>of the Directorate General for Education, Research and Cultural Institutes of the Ministry of Culture, through which the history of the Vigna Carafa al Quirinale<\/strong>, desired by Ippolito II d'Este.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting will be completed by \"Accessibility and rubric: a possible combination<\/strong>\", a dialogue between Annalisa Trasatti, coordinator of the Omero State Tactile Museum<\/a> of Ancona and Maria Sciola, Head of the Pinuccio Sciola's sound park<\/a>, for a reflection on the Sound Garden, an open-air artistic space, in close connection with the sounds of the surrounding nature, a few kilometers from Cagliari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
