The Directorate-General for Digitalization and Communication will take part in the closing event of Dicolab. Culture Goes Digital, the project promoted by the Central Institute for the Digitalization of Cultural Heritage – Digital Library of the Ministry of Culture as part of PNRR Culture 4.0 and carried out by the National School of Heritage and Cultural Activities to support the digital transformation of Italian cultural heritage through training and the strengthening of skills among sector professionals.
The event, titled "Legacies of Competence: Heritage, Trajectories, and Tools of Dicolab. Culture Goes Digital," will take place on June 23 in Rome, at the Auditorium of the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and will represent an important opportunity for discussion on the results achieved by the project and on future prospects for the digitalization of heritage.
Over the past few years, Dicolab has involved thousands of cultural professionals throughout the national territory, promoting the spread of digital skills and fostering collaboration among administrations, universities, cultural institutions, organizations, businesses, and the research community. The project has contributed to the development of tools, practices, and knowledge that today constitute a shared heritage supporting innovation in the sector.
The proceedings will open with institutional greetings from our Director-General, Andrea De Pasquale, as a testament to the Directorate's commitment to promoting digital innovation processes and the enhancement of cultural heritage through the adoption of increasingly advanced technologies, skills, and organizational models.
During the day, the Director of the Digital Library, Giuliano Romalli, will take part in a round table dedicated to the key skills for the digital transformation of cultural heritage, contributing to the discussion on future strategies and directions to be pursued.
The program includes a keynote lecture, dialogues, round tables, and an exhibition space dedicated to the project's results, offering the professional community an opportunity to share experiences, best practices, and visions for the future of the digital transformation of culture.
