Ecomic, the new digital ecosystem dedicated to the world of culture, promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Directorate-General for Digitalization and Communication, and the Central Institute for the Digitization of Cultural Heritage – Digital Library, will be among the protagonists at
Italian Tech Week, the most important Italian event on innovation and technology, which will be held in Turin at the renovated Officine Grandi Riparazioni (OGR) from October 1 to 3, 2025.

Integrating new technologies, creativity, and entrepreneurship, providing a core set of advanced services to coordinate and drive the digital transformation of Italy's cultural heritage: this is the goal of Ecomic, which will be presented during the event through a masterclass entitled:“Beyond Data: Shaping the Digital Transition of Cultural Heritage with Ecomic”. The meeting will provide an opportunity for reflection and discussion on the future of the cultural sector in the digital age, exploring scenarios and use cases that show how cutting-edge digital tools—from immersive experiences to the use of artificial intelligence for curation and content personalization—can open up new opportunities for cultural institutions, startups, creative businesses, and investors.

Cultural heritage is one of the most precious resources to protect, but in today's digital world, the challenge arises of how to preserve, enhance, and make it sustainable, engaging new generations and creating opportunities for economic and social development. The meeting will be an opportunity to present an innovative perspective on how culture can become an increasingly strategic driver of growth, also thanks to new technologies. The masterclass will be preceded by institutional greetings from Dr. Giuliano Romalli, the new Director of the Central Institute for the Digitization of Cultural Heritage – Digital Library, and subsequently led by Dr. Bianca Hermanin, art historian at the Digital Library. Moderation will be provided by Flavio Proietti Pantosti, an expert in cultural and digital innovation.

Digital transformation represents a crucial challenge and a strategic opportunity for the cultural heritage sector, essential for ensuring conservation, enhancement, and accessibility in an era characterized by continuous and rapid technological and social change, states Dr. Andrea De Pasquale, Director General of Digitalization and Communication. The Ecomic masterclass will be held on October 1st at 4:00 PM. The Digital Library will also be present with its own space at the OGR for the entire duration of the event.
