“Preserving the past, shaping the future” è il titolo del Forum Nazionale della Cultura Digitale, che si terrà a Rome on 11 and 12 November 2026 at the Sala Dante of the Central Institute for Graphics,54 Via Poli. The event will also be livestreamed on the YouTube channel of the Ministry of Culture.
The initiative is organised by the Ministry of Culture – Directorate-General for Digitalisation and Communication together withthe Central Institute for the Digitalisation of Cultural Heritage – Digital Library, con l’obiettivo di promuovere un confronto permanente sui processi di trasformazione digitale del settore culturale.
On Forum Nazionale della Cultura Digitale nasce come a forum for dialogue, coordination and joint planning among public institutions, the research community, cultural and creative enterprises, professionals and experts. At the heart of the initiative is the development of a shared strategy to support the digital transition of Italian culture and strengthen the ability of the cultural system to address the technological challenges of the present and the future.
Particular attention will be paid to the technologies transforming the ways in which cultural heritage is preserved, promoted and accessed.Key topics will include artificial intelligence, augmented reality, 3D digitisation and modelling, data management and interoperability, and the development of digital platforms and infrastructures capable of connecting heritage, expertise and institutions.
The 2026 edition is also particularly significant as it coincides with the concluding phase of numerous projects funded under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP).. Il Forum Nazionale della Cultura Digitale rappresenterà quindi un momento di bilancio sui risultati raggiunti e, allo stesso tempo, un’occasione per interrogarsi sul futuro delle progettualità avviate. Il confronto sarà orientato non soltanto alla valutazione degli interventi realizzati, ma anche alla definizione delle condizioni necessarie per garantirne la sostenibilità, l’evoluzione e la valorizzazione nel tempo.

How to participate
On Forum Nazionale della Cultura Digitale potrà essere seguito in person in Rome at the Sala Dante of the Central Institute for Graphics, subject to confirmation of registration, or followed online via livestream sul canale YouTube del Ministero della Cultura.

La partecipazione alle giornate è valida ai fini della formazione per il personale del Ministero della Cultura, secondo le indicazioni fornite dalla Circolare DG-RUO del 9/10/2026 n.228.
